The English Language Institute offers part-time, non-credit courses designed primarily to provide English language training for international graduate students. The English Language Institute's courses are available only to Yale Ph.D. candidates in the graduate school, post-doctoral or other research fellows, or graduate students from other schools with approval.

 
Eli Whitney and Non-Degree Students Program
Since 1977, the Eli Whitney and the Non-Degree student programs have offered non-resident students the opportunity to enroll in most Yale College courses for credit. Students have used these programs to complete a Bachelor's degree; to qualify for graduate or professional school; to launch, advance, or change careers; or simply to enrich their personal lives.
